Among all styles of Greek traditional music, recordings from Epirus, a region in northwestern Greece next to Albania, are in the core of Falireas ProductionsTM. We have released three albums, all of them with recordings between 1926 and 1951, with the exception of a couple of tracks. The reason for choosing this period is that it produced the most breathtaking samples of this style -EPIROTIKA.
Released in 1979, Sphinx is the album that defined Greek Jazz. The arranger and pianist M. Alexiou subtly planted the modal melodic sound of Greek traditional music into contemporary jazz playing.
Classical piano pieces composed by Costas Mylonas, sensitively performed by the pianist Marianna Tsika. 11 simple and moving tracks buy a composer trying to interpret key points in his life through music.
