Music from Epirus
Recordings from Epirus (NW Greece) have nothing in common with any other genre of Greek traditional music. The clarinets, violins and stunning polyphonic choirs use an endless variety of improvisational techniques. The quality of these recordings (before the 1950’s) gave birth to a haunting atmosphere. Experience it in three collections from rare 78rpm records.

Master Solists from Epirus
Master Solists from Epirus
Musicians from Epirus were nearly always descending from families of musicians with expert knowledge of the instruments and vocal techniques used in the Ipirotiko style. This collection presents the most significant musical families with authentic recordings from 1926 up to the 1950's, plus a rare live recording by one of the best clarinet virtuosi, in 1997.
